Terms of Use
3 Up 3 Down — baseball scorekeeping for iPhone
Last updated: 23 September 2026
These terms cover your use of 3 Up 3 Down. They are short, and written to be read. By using the app you agree to them.
What 3 Up 3 Down is
A scorecard for baseball games, kept on your iPhone. You enter lineups and record what happens; the app works out the box score. Games are stored so they survive closing the app, and sync when there is a connection.
Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should agree to these terms on your behalf.
What you enter
You are responsible for the information you put into a scorecard, including player names — and only you can judge whether you should be entering them.
Scorecards often involve children. 3 Up 3 Down never requires a real name: an unnamed slot reads as "Batter 5" and a whole game can be scored that way, and initials or jersey numbers work just as well. If you are keeping score for a youth team, that is usually the better choice.
By entering information about another person, you confirm you are entitled to do so. Please do not enter more than a scorecard needs — it is a record of a ball game, not somewhere to keep contact details, addresses, dates of birth, medical information, or anything else about a player.
3 Up 3 Down stores what you enter so it can show you your games, and does nothing else with it. What that involves is set out in the privacy policy.
Your scorecards belong to you
You keep ownership of everything you enter. You give 3 Up 3 Down only the permission it needs to run — to store your scorecards, sync them to your devices, and show them back to you. Nothing you enter is sold, shared for advertising, or used to train anything.
Your account
Until you sign in with Apple, your games belong to an anonymous account tied to that installation of the app. If you delete the app without signing in, those games cannot be recovered by anyone, including us — there is no identity attached that would let us return them to you.
If you do sign in, you are responsible for keeping access to your Apple ID. We cannot return your games to you without it.
Fair use of the service
Please don't:
- try to access scorecards that are not yours, or work around the security rules that keep accounts separate
- attack, overload, or otherwise interfere with the service
- use 3 Up 3 Down to store or distribute anything unlawful
- copy, decompile, or resell the app itself
Deleting things
You can delete an individual game by swiping it in the list, or your whole account from Account → Delete Account. Deleting your account removes every scorecard stored under it, on every device, and cannot be undone.
We may suspend or end access to the service if these terms are being broken.
No guarantees
3 Up 3 Down is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. In particular, we do not promise that the service will always be available, that syncing will always succeed, or that a scorecard can never be lost. Games are cached on your device and synced when a connection allows, but no software is perfect and no backup is guaranteed.
If a scorecard matters to you, treat the app as one copy of it rather than the only copy.
Limits on liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, 3 Up 3 Down and its developer are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost data or lost scorecards, arising from your use of the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes
These terms may change. The date at the top changes with them, and material changes will be noted in the app. Continuing to use 3 Up 3 Down after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.
